Statement of Faith

The following concise statement of faith is the summary and essence of the Confession of Faith of the Princeton Christian Church:

1. THE INSPIRATION OF THE SCRIPTURES
We believe that the Bible is the word of God, divinely inspired, and that it is absolutely trustworthy and supremely authoritative in matters of faith and morals.

2. THE ONE TRUE GOD
We believe in the One Living and True God, eternally existing and in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit -- The Creator and preserver of the universe.

3. THE PERSON AND WORK OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, atoned for man's sin and was crucified on the cross. He was raised bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and will return personally in the Last Day.

4. THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Triune Godhead of one substance and co-existent with the Father and the Son. He affects the work of creation and salvation, and is active in the Church according to the Word of God.

5. JUSTIFICATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST
We believe that all mankind are sinners by Adam and need salvation in Jesus Christ. Repented sinners are justified by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, and are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

6. DEFINITIVE AND PROGRESSIVE SANCTIFICATION
We believe that those who are justified are also sanctified by the Holy Spirit so that they are enabled to live a holy life on earth.

7. THE CHURCH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ consisting of members who are truly reborn by the Holy Spirit and who committed to the Lord's ministry in worship, service, and fellowship.

8. THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe that in the Last Day, Christ will return visibly and personally to judge the living and the dead, and to usher in a new heaven and a new earth. There will be a bodily resurrection of believers unto eternal life and of unbelievers unto eternal condemnation.
